First Aid Squad
Progression in our agency consist of the following:
Cadet Corps

Cadet applicants must be between the ages of 15-17. A cadet will then have the option to apply for adult membership as of their 18th birthday.

The Purpose of the Cadet Corps is to train and prepare the cadet members for responsibilities and duties of an active member of the squad.
Observer Period

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

The purpose of the observer period is to give the applicant, an idea of how things are done in the field in order to help you determine your interest in joining.

Upon application you will receive a physical form that must be filled out by either your primary care physician or the physician associated with the squad.

Regardless of the applicants level of training a minimum of 10 calls must be observed/or a minimum of 20 hours must be spent at the squad with a responding crew.

Must attend 2 training drills during observer period. (drills are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month)
Probationary Members

Probationary applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Probationary applicants must submit a letter to the membership or line officer requesting to become a probationary member.

Probationary period is a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 18 months riding as a probationary member.

Probationary members are encouraged to answer as many calls as possible.

Probationary members are to receive their CPR & EMT certifications within the 6-18 month time frame.
Active Membership

An active membership applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have been a probationary member for at least 6 months.

Must have completed all training prescribed by the N.J.S.F.A.C (EMT & CPR Certifications)

Not have been convicted of a felony or any higher crimes.

Active membership applicants must be a probationary "member" in good standing in order to submit a letter to membership and request to become an active member and the request will be put to vote by the membership.
